Fernanda Guerrero-Brooks, DVM

Dr. Guerrero was born and raised in Aguascalientes, Mexico, but moved to San Antonio, TX at a young age, making it her second home. Growing up, she spent a big part of her time on her grandfather’s ranch, where she discovered her passion for animals and her love for veterinary medicine at the young age of 6 years old. Dr. Guerrero completed her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University in 2017. Following graduation, she moved to Fort Collins, CO for veterinary school, where she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. It was during her time at Colorado State that she further honed in on her love for cattle and livestock management, working with herds in Colorado and Wyoming to test for High Mountain Disease, and becoming certified in bovine artificial insemination. She was also an active officer of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and received an award for Beef Cattle Clinical Proficiency from Colorado State University.

Dr. Guerrero also loves all aspects of small animal medicine including preventative care, diagnostics, and surgery. She enjoys providing care to dogs and cats, and cherishes the bond between these pets and their owners. During her time in vet school she worked at a low-cost clinic where she provided medical care and vaccines to dogs and cats in low income communities. It was through this experience that she developed a passion for giving back to the community, and providing high-quality low-cost care.
