Dr. Shawna Westmark Cobb Veterinary Clinic

Fernanda Guerrero-Brooks, DVM

Dr. Guerrero was born and raised in Aguascalientes, Mexico, but moved to San Antonio, TX at a young age, making it her second home. Growing up, she spent a big part of her time on her grandfather’s ranch, where she discovered her passion for animals and her love for veterinary medicine at the young age of 6 years old. Dr. Guerrero completed her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University in 2017. Following graduation, she moved to Fort Collins, CO for veterinary school, where she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. It was during her time at Colorado State that she further honed in on her love for cattle and livestock management, working with herds in Colorado and Wyoming to test for High Mountain Disease, and becoming certified in bovine artificial insemination. She was also an active officer of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and received an award for Beef Cattle Clinical Proficiency from Colorado State University.

Dr. Guerrero also loves all aspects of small animal medicine including preventative care, diagnostics, and surgery. She enjoys providing care to dogs and cats, and cherishes the bond between these pets and their owners. During her time in vet school she worked at a low-cost clinic where she provided medical care and vaccines to dogs and cats in low income communities. It was through this experience that she developed a passion for giving back to the community, and providing high-quality low-cost care.

In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, hiking, swimming, and relaxing with her husband Malik and her two pups, Cin and Zara. She is also an avid fitness enthusiast, an amateur baker, and a self-proclaimed foodie.

Jessie Olivo, DVM

Dr. Olivo was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised in Houston, Texas. Growing up surrounded by animals, including cats, dogs, pocket pets, and horses, she developed a deep love for all creatures. Inspired by her family of medical professionals, she pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Olivo graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. While at A&M, she discovered a love for wildlife and exotic animals while working at the campus Wildlife Center. After graduation, she worked as a small animal veterinary assistant before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Midwestern University for veterinary school. While at Midwestern, she developed a passion for mixed animal medicine and being able to practice on all species. Her love for working with large animals developed further during her clinical rotation year where she spent a few weeks in the Navajo Nation to work on cattle and horses. She graduated from Midwestern in 2025.

Dr. Olivo has a passion for all things related to preventative care and wellness for cats and dogs. While she loves working with all large animal species, she especially loves working with goats, sheep, and pigs. Because of her experience in the Navajo nation and working at various spay and neuter clinics, Dr. Olivo is looking forward to better serving her community and providing accessible care for pets of all shapes and sizes.

When not working with other people’s animals, Dr. Olivo enjoys spending time with her own dogs; Presley, Paxton, and Nugget. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Frank, and their friends. She loves being outdoors whether that’s hiking or just laying outside by the pool. She also loves reading, doing puzzles, and catching up on her favorite TV shows.
